Hi there, I'm Lukas
I'm a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
Where It All Began
Moving to Germany wasn't in the grand plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
Those initial months were challenging — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Gradually, routines settled in. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built TerraForgeWorks
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow travel content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Germany continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information is useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,
Lukas
